Who We Are

We are an independent Bristol based payroll company, initially growing through recommendations and word of mouth, we now work with a range of businesses in the hospitality, retail and beauty sectors right through to repair shops and creative spaces. No business is too small, we are happy to work with employers who have just one or two employees as much as we are with larger workforces.

Bristol Payroll is now made up of a small team of like minded individuals who work with a range of businesses, charities and other organisations helping them to achieve their goals.

Payroll for me started in 2015 working with a single coffee shop, with the aim of improving the service they were receiving and to save them money on the payroll charges imposed by their accountant.
Now as a full member of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals I work with a number of businesses across a range of sectors.
 
Bristol Payroll is at the forefront of what a payroll provider can offer with simple payroll submissions, secure online employee access, synchronisation with Xero / Quickbooks / Sage and the technology to facilitate staff payments. 

Away from payroll in 2017 I launched the Bristol Porridge Project a small cafe serving speciality coffee and some rather impressively topped porridge, we grew a loyal following on Trenchard Street in Bristol, before we relocated to a larger venue in Stokes Croft. 
Sadly relocating just before the pandemic hit we were not in the strongest position to weather the storm and with the future so uncertain we took the decision to bring the Porridge Project to a close. 

In my spare time I have taken up woodworking after picking up the bug from a ‘Level 1 Woodwork Course’ at the Makershed in St. Pauls.  I am currently in the process of building and upholstering an armchair, and having recently moved to Fishponds, there is a ‘list’ of things to make for the house long enough to keep me busy.

How We Do What We Do

We run all of our payroll on BrightPay, industry leading software. We send your information directly to HMRC and receive Tax Code changes and other updates electronically so nothing gets missed. We can communicate with your pension provider, sync with your accounting software and as an additional service automate your staff payments.

BrightPay Connect allows us to offer online cloud storage for payslips, employee calendars and bespoke employer documents. Employees can access their documents, update details and request leave 24/7, while employers can access all employee records, view company wide information and explore a range of reports.
